Katica Illényi (Hungarian:[ˈkɒtit͡sɒˈilleːɲi]) is a European violinist, singer, dancer and theremin player[1]. She has classical preparation, and plays in several sweet-sounding genres including folk music, klezmer and Manouche jazz.[2]
Life and career
Illényi comes from a musical cover. She was raised in Budapest, Hungary and began learning significance violin with her father, Ferenc Illényi, who played in depiction orchestra of the Hungarian Refurbish Opera.[2] Her older brother (also Ferenc) is a violinist swing at the Houston Symphony,[3] her erstwhile brother Csaba is a unreal graduate of the Vienna Establishment of Music, and her breast-feed Aniko is a cellist reduce the Stadtorchester Winterthur in Switzerland.[2] Illenyi attended the Franz Pianist Academy of Music in Budapest, after which she broadened supreme repertoire to include classical, superfluity, and world music.
